DATE, TIME AND ROUTE OF RACE
NOTE: As routes are out and back courses, the faster runner must always be given the right of way: From a safety viewpoint runners should generally run facing on-coming traffic.
Runners must stay in the road and on the route are described and marshalled. Those failing to do so may be disqualified for leaving the course without authority.
50 KM Ultra Marathon, Start time 06:00 AM (14/4/2017)
The race will start from opposite Amman Tourism Beach, the route will take the service road towards the hotel area (against traffic), the route
will take turn left into the Sky Dive access road. The runners will do a U-turn in the Sky Dive area and go back to the service road, where they will take a left turn towards Baptism site junction.
Runners now take the road towards the baptism site and then take the right hand fork along the secondary road leading to King Hussein Bridge running through the farm area. There is a turn point along this road and runners complete a U Turn then follow exactly the same route back, in and around the Sky Dive, and along the service road along side the hotel then exit the onto the main road at the end of the Hotel section to return to finish line (same point as Start) at Amman Tourism Beach.
21 KM Half Marathon, Start time 07:00 AM (14/4/2017)
The starting point is located approximately 1 km north of the security Checkpoint on the main road in the South Bound carriageway. Runners will run facing the normal traffic direction, and take the second entrance on the left into the service road, and at this point will join the same route as the 50km runners heading north towards the Sky Dive and in the direction of the Baptism Site.
Half Marathon runners also turn 6left into the Sky Dive access road. The runners will do a U-turn in the Sky Dive area and go back to the service road, where they will take a right turn to run back South in the service road towards the hotel area. Runners will exit onto the main road at the end of the Hotel section to finish at the line at Amman Tourism Beach.
10 KM Race, Start time 9:00 AM (14/4/2017)
The race starts 2 KM south aft the baptism junction, (North of the Check Point). Runners are required to stay on the main road and run in the same direction as normal traffic flow. (10km Runners are specifically requested not to leave the main highway as the 50km and 21km runners will be in the service road and must be allowed free access of that section of road)
The route will go downhill along main road to the hotel area and then onto the finish line at Amman Tourism Beach.
Children’s Race, Start time 9:00 AM, (07/4/2017)
The race will start at King Al Hussein Park opposite to the (football field), runners will take the road in direction of King Hussein mosque, then turn towards Children’s Museum and on towards the Royal Automobile Museum and finally return towards the entrance gate and the finish line at the football field.
GATHERING POINT& CAR PARKING :
NOTE: the routes used by events require that a number of roads are closed to traffic and these closures are put in place hours before the race start.
Please make sure you are at the gathering point and start long before the official start time. The travel time will be considerably longer than usual so please leave home early and plan to be parked at least 30 minutes prior to the gathering times given: The races will commence on times and any runner more than 10 minutes after the start time will not be allowed to commence the race.
Friday 14 April 2017 RACES
- 50 KM Opposite the crown plaza hotel at the Dead Sea at 04:30 AM: Runners must be at the point by no later than 04:45 AM.
- 21 KM Opposite the crown plaza hotel at the Dead Sea at 05:30 AM: Runners must be at the point by no later than 05:45 AM.
- 10 KM Opposite the crown plaza hotel at the Dead Sea at 07:00 AM: Runners must be at the point by no later than 07:15 AM.

The Gathering point for each area will open at 04:00 AM Except for Children Race at 7:00 AM
There are specific routes signposted from the gathering to the start areas for each race.
Runners should not approach the start from the main street and they don’t allowed to park near to the start line .
Runners will receive their race medals at the finish line.
The celebration area will be at the Amman Tourist Beach, located 2km after the Dead Sea “Hotel Zone” sign. Participants will have full access to all facilities, including the beach and shaded areas, toilets, showers, changing rooms and restaurants.
Food and refreshments will be available for reasonable prices at the finish line (Amman Tourist Beach).
